How to : LG Optimus One P500 Gingerbread update

LG rolled out Gingerbread update for LG Optimus One(LG P500) on August 28 , 2011 in India and other various countries. I have heard about this update from the post on MoneyControl and from that time I am waiting to update my mobile to Gingerbread.

How to upgrade
LG officially upgrading LG Optimus One to Android 2.3.3 version using LG Desktop Client or LG PC Suite tool which is available only on windows. Yesterday i tried to update using LG PC Suite IV Initially it went fine till updating the mobile , but during installation of new ROM it fails 😦 .

If the upgradation using PC suite fails how to upgrade to the new OS? It is very simple. Just contact the LG Service center which is located all over India . Service center details can be accessed from the http://www.lgmobiles.com/ (Select the state from the drop down). It is absolutely free of cost, if your mobile has a warranty and will take maximum of 30 minutes.
Please note down the below points before upgrade
- All Phone contacts and data will be lose during upgrade
- All installed software needs to install again after upgrade.
Better take the backup of all contacts and important notes before upgrade.

I am having a Huawei U8230 which runs on Android 2.1.
Is it possible to upgrdae this model to higher versions of Android? (Like 2.2, 2.3 etc.)
